Since its flagship event in 2013, the Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition has been one of Africa’s foremost technology event that brings together key stakeholders of the Nigerian and African tech ecosystem such as development agencies, innovators, governments, investors, corporate organizations, media, academia, policy makers, etc. with hundreds of participants drawn from various sectors as well as high profiled speakers and top government representatives.
The 8th Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition 2020 is scheduled to take place from the 23rd to 25th of June, 2020 with the theme “Building a New Africa with AI & Blockchain”. The event will take place at the prestigious Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria.
The past decade has left a global mark with the emergence of great technologies and innovations which would not have been seen as ‘humanly impossible’ a few decades back. The emergence of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain is disrupting several sectors such as EdTech, HealthTech, Renewable Energy, e-Commerce, AgriTech etc., innovations which will completely transform the African continent when developed and leveraged upon by Africa and its thriving youth bulge which will drive sustainable development thus enhancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa. This is where the Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition comes in handy to create a unique opportunity for stakeholders of the African technology ecosystem to convene, network, synergize, build partnerships and drive technology and innovation in Nigeria and Africa at large.
The 3-day event will feature panel sessions, exhibitions by innovators, breakout sessions, digital face-off, networking and other interesting activities that will foster collaboration between stakeholders in attendance. The panel sessions which are built upon the theme “Building a New Africa with AI & Blockchain” will feature brilliant discussions on AI and Blockchain technologies and provide insightful examinations of the potential impacts of Blockchain and AI technologies on Agriculture, Education, Health, E-Commerce & Retailing, Cyber-Security, Data-Mining & Management, Media & Entertainment, Public Sector Management & Processes, Banking & Finance, Transportation and Logistics, while providing feasible roadmaps and recommendations to governments and other stakeholders in attendance. The event has a vision of changing the narrative that Africa is comfortable being a passive consumer of technology innovations created by others to an active driver and contributor to the unfolding digital revolution in the world.
