UK based fashion platform, Vanilla Vogue is set to storm the African market by bringing on board quality independent fashion designers in Africa. The platform will achieve this with a virtual fashion show aimed at selecting designs that qualify.
According to the founder Vanilla Vogue, Tolu Akinsanmi, Africa is a home of beauty, fashion and style. And so in recent times, we are seeing more talented designers come out of Africa.
“We are hoping to run virtual fashion shows and when COVID-19 allows physical fashion shows from the year 2021, it will open up more opportunities for real talents to be further harnessed.
“Vanillavogue.com as a platform launched in 2016. It selects stylish pieces from designers mostly from Europe, North America and Europe, and we are now looking to enter Africa. We are mostly an e-commerce brand with our home office in the UK.”
Akinsanmi stressed that their pieces were created through partnerships with independent designers, while focusing on excellent customer service. “Apart from our stylish pieces which are highly sought out, our aim is to keep the customer happy.

“Our pieces are very stylish and elegant and highly sought after, as shown by our Social media followings and feedback. We mostly partner with small and independent fashion designers with very stylish pieces. Our partners are based in Canada, the US, Asia and Europe.”
With its international customer base at the moment, Vanilla Vogue has its customers coming out of Europe, Australia and America. “We hope to open up the opportunity and the platforms for exceptional talents to sell their products on the international space.”
On what the brand name stands for, Akinsanmi said, “the name Vanilla can mean Normal or plain while Vogue means stylish and fashionable. Our mission is to bring out style in normal people by procuring stylish and elegant and yet affordable pieces.”
